We understand that it can be a daunting prospect trying to explain what you want and ensuring that you get booked in for the correct service.

How Can I Explain To My Hair Stylist What Style I Want?
We have built up a reputation for excellence in hairdressing and have a team of highly trained, creative and passionate stylists & colour specialists waiting to create the perfect hairstyle for you.
Your hair appointment at Melanie Richard’s hairdressers in the centre of Peterborough always starts with a thorough consultation. We will ask you questions to get the answers we’re looking for and listen to what you say, that way we can ensure we deliver a hairstyle you’ll love and can easily manage yourself at home.
As well as assessing your hair type, we’ll think about your lifestyle (how much time do you have to maintain your hair?) your skin tone, budget, personal style and more.

Help! I Don’t Know What Beauty Service I Need
The first step is to book a free consultation with one of our beauty team and we can assess your needs and help you decide on the best treatment for you. We can also give you a patch test there and then, so you’ll be ready if you plan to have an eyelash or brow tinting service inspire and won’t have to pop back to the salon.
We are an experienced and highly qualified team. Your skin care journey with us will be a 5-star service with every visit. Our friendly team will listen, advise, guide and achieve so you always leave the salon feeling and looking amazing.
Why Do I Need A Patch Test?
Your health and safety is always our top priority at Melanie Richard’s. Allergic reactions to hair dye are rare, but they can happen, so it’s important that you follow our guidelines on patch testing. We only use top-quality vegan hair care products from Aveda but to ensure your safety, we may require you to have an allergy patch test no later than 48 hours before your colour service.
We’d recommend booking your cut and colour service for the same day, so we can make sure that they work together to enhance each other.
