We have some very exciting news to share… Salon Owner Melanie and Designer Nicole are finalists in this year’s HJ Extensions Competition 2026!
We couldn’t be more proud. On 4th October, Melanie and Nicole will take to the stage at the prestigious Salon International in London, where they’ll showcase their extension skills live as part of the competition.
It’s a fantastic achievement and one that means a lot to the whole team. The HJ Extensions Competition, sponsored by Remi Cachet, celebrates the artistry and technical skill behind professional hair extensions, from precision application and placement to creating seamless, beautifully blended results.
And for us, it’s another exciting chapter in our ongoing passion for Great Lengths Hair Extensions.

Extensions have always been a big part of what we do at Melanie Richards Hair & Beauty. We’re proud to be a Platinum Great Lengths Hair Extension Specialist salon, a status awarded to salons demonstrating a consistently high level of skill, experience and expertise in the application and styling of Great Lengths extensions.

Salon Owner Melanie’s experience also extends beyond working with clients in the salon. She is a Great Lengths Educator, helping to share her knowledge and experience through Great Lengths certification programmes.
Earlier this year, Melanie also represented Great Lengths on the Great Lengths Main Stage at HairCon Manchester 2026, sharing her skills and experience in front of an industry audience.
Over the years, the team has also taken part in competitions and industry events, continually challenging themselves, developing their skills and keeping up with the latest techniques in the world of professional hair extensions.
So, seeing Melanie and Nicole recognised as finalists in the HJ Extensions Competition 2026 is a very special moment for us.
