We are bursting with pride here at Melanie Richard’s Hair & Beauty Salon in Peterborough because our incredibly talented Creative Director, Honor, has done it again! For the second year in a row, she’s a finalist in HJ’s Extensions Competition – known as the HJ’s Extensions Specialist of the Year Competition, sponsored by Remi Cachet.

This prestigious competition, run by The Hairdressers Journal (HJ), is all about celebrating the very best in hair extensions. It challenges hair pros across the country to show off flawless application skills, innovative techniques, and of course, a whole lot of creativity. With categories spanning from commercial looks (extensions that solve everyday hair challenges and give clients a real confidence boost) to creative looks (avant garde, boundary-breaking artistry with colour and styling), it’s a platform that truly showcases the versatility of hair extensions.

And where do the finalists get to show off their work? None other than Salon International in October – THE hairdressing event of the year, now celebrating its tenth anniversary of hosting this competition.

Honor is not only competing as a finalist, but she’s also a certified Great Lengths Extensions Specialist, meaning she’s trained to the highest standards in applying, maintaining, and caring for premium extensions. This certification is more than just a title; it’s a promise that every client gets natural-looking results, ethical hair sourcing, and expert aftercare for long-lasting, confidence-boosting transformations.
