A Skin Test Is Essential Before Your Hair Colour Appointment

All hair colour products state skin testing MUST be carried out at least 48 hours before a colour service.

Our colour services are available to men and women aged 16 and over. A skin test/patch test is simple and quick. All you have to do is pop into our Peterborough hair & tanning salon and a member of our team will dot a small amount of tint on the inside crease of the elbow to check for adverse reactions.

Natural-Looking Hair Colouring – Balayage

Balayage provides a natural looking, sun-kissed hair colour achieved through highlights and is a great hair colouring technique to try if you are nervous about dying your hair or new to colouring your hair.

Boost Your Natural Hair Colour & Hide Grey Hair

Want to get rid of a few grey hairs or hide those dark roots? Book in to have your regrowth covered. We can blend your roots or unwanted grey hairs in with the rest of your hair colour and give your hair renewed depth and shine. Glossing can also be used to add tone to your hair colour and even camouflage grey hair.

Should I Choose Temporary or Permanent Hair Colour?

Temporary Hair Colour – If you are colouring your hair for the first time, it might be sensible to start off with a temporary hair dye which will wash out over a few shampoos. Remember, however, that you can only go darker with temporary hair colour. If you want to lighten your hair, you will need to use a permanent dye.

Semi-Permanent Hair Colour – You can achieve longer-lasting colour with a semi-permanent shade.  This is ideal if you want to subtly boost your natural hair colour or cover your first grey hairs.

Permanent Hair Colour – Permanent hair dye works by lifting the cuticles along the hair shaft and depositing the colour deeper within each hair strand.  Your colour will be permanent and your roots will need re-touching every six weeks.

How To Care For Coloured Hair

Hair colour care starts in the salon during the dyeing process itself where we can add specialist hair treatments during the colouring process to protect the bonds of the hair from damage. The result is stronger, healthier-feeling hair that holds its colour for longer.

We see incredible results with the amazing olaplex hair treatments.  Olaplex™ products can be used with your usual hair colouring service without causing further damage from the hair colouring process.

It works to give strength, shine and vibrant colour to even the most over-processed hair targeting the structure of each strand, rather than just coating the hair meaning it nourishes the hair from the inside out.
